Dance Workshop

Paul trained at the Laban Centre for Movement and Dance and gained an Advanced Diploma in Dance Theatre Performance. He obtained his Batchelor of Arts from Bretton Hall (University of Leeds) and a Certificate in Education from Sunderland University. He is co-founder of Dance In Education Services.

Paul is a qualified Assessor and Internal Verifier and has been a Becta-trained ILT Champion since 2000. He is also a Member of the Institute for Learning.

After a 10 year professional, international performing career, Paul embraced the world of information technology, which led to a career departure. Currently Paul is the IT Development Manager, working in Further Education. He recently led his team to win the TechDis/ALT Innovative Practice with e-Learning for their Widening Access Through New Technologies project; a project to bring e-Learning opportunities closer to dyslexic learners using mobile technologies. Paul is also a Higher Education lecturer in e-Learning and a Professional Development Advisor.

Paul also works with a local college's Centre of Vocational Excellence in Performing Arts as a Guest Lecturer in Labanotation, Choreology and Employability.

Paul is an experienced teacher of Dance and Drama in Foundation, KS1, KS2, KS3, KS4/GCSE/A Level, FE and HE programmes.

In 1992, he co-Founded SLAP Physical Theatre and pioneered the site-specific and confrontational theatre work now prevalent in night clubs from Prague to Ibiza. With SLAP he created work in alternative environments such as the inflatable light structure, Eggopolis, Greek Orthodox Churches, aircraft hangars, the EuroStar and the Gare du Nord, Paris as well as other large-scale, outdoor performance venues.

Paul's dance performance career has spanned many years and he has worked with the country's most innovative, leading choreographers and companies in Britain, Europe and the United States.

Paul has designed all of Dance In Education Services paper and multimedia resources (including this web site and the ADEPT Portal) since 1997. ADEPT is Paul's chance to bring both of his careers together to benefit pupils, students and teachers through an accessible, blended learning experience.

Paul also advises the company on licensing, copyright, e-Safety and is a CEOP Ambassador.
