Get Fizzical

Get Fizzical is a rewarding and enjoyable physical development programme for young children. The tasks have been designed to encourage children to explore, investigate, discover, create, practice and refine their creative and imaginative learning through dance and play.

Throughout the programme children will be taught 19 dances and movement exercises. Each dance has a specific theme and focuses on developing children's awareness of their environment. Important issue such as hygiene, healthy eating, road safety, saying no to strangers, watching, thinking, listening at school, bullying, counting and personal organisation are addressed, as well as other useful knowledge and skills.

The resource is comprised of numerous creative tasks designed to assist teachers and parents alike to fulfill the early learning goals featured in the Curriculum Guidance for the Foundation Stage. Although the resource mainly focuses on the Physical Development and Creative Development remit of the Foundation Curriculum it also provides learning opportunities associated with other areas of the curriculum.

As with all Dance in Education Services' resources, Get Fizzical adopts a pick up and go approach which facilitates a dynamic and accessible experience for both teacher/parent and child alike. Each theme is accompanied by a lively audio CD featuring an array of musical styles (from rap to gospel and others). Each song is catchy and funky and is guaranteed to stimulate the child's imagination, and have them singing and tapping their feet!
