We regularly work within the school sport partnerships. We work with YST and many PDMs, SSCOs and PLTs to ensure that good dance practice is spread throughout the school network.

This year we have worked with a number of partnerships conducting dance workshops and festivals all over the country. During this time we have taught thousands of school children and conducted a large number of dance shows and festivals.

We are involved in a number of initiatives within the specialist schools network and school development plan (sports colleges, school sport partnership programmes, sport programmes, club links, gifted and talented programmes).

Last year, we were commissioned by Anna Young (International Development Officer, Youth sport Trust) to create and implement a national training programme for the Sport Lead Practitioners.

Andrea Mallen Director of Dance In Education Services created a training/mentoring programme which commenced with an initial two day training at Loughborough University and continued with a support programme which resulted in DIES teachers supporting the SLPs in the field.

The nature of the support programme ranged from whole partnership training to individual school workshops.

"Thank you yet again for another fantastic and inspiring Training Day! All Delegates thoroughly enjoyed the day and found it very informative. They said they can't wait to put their new found skills into action."
Angela Deake, SLP, Barlby High School

"I just wanted to send a note of thanks to you and Rebecca for the great day of workshops delivered at Feltham Community College. The students from my college and visiting schools/teachers all had positive feedback on the sessions delivered and it was great for me to have another dance person in the college!"
Laura Kendal, AST Dance, Feltham Community College

"Thank you for your support in making the first Ryedale OSHL dance club such a great success. The pupils and staff thoroughly enjoyed the school based sessions and the project encouraged a large number of children to be physically active and improve the confidence and social skills of those involved. The dance festival was also excellent and over 270 parents and relatives attended the event at Norton College. As you are already aware the after school club project has been preceded by in service training provided by Dance in Education Services along with the dance portal and I am sure that this has led to the increase in quality and quantity of dance delivery in the partnership."
Ben Grady, Partnership Development Manager, Lady Lumley's School & Sport College
