Group CPDDance in Education is a company that makes every effort to meet the needs of its clients.  Friendly and flexible are two words that readily spring to mind in connection with their delivery of courses. Delegate feedback from courses run for Education Leeds by Dance In Education Services clearly indicates the training to be of the highest order."

Lead Trainer PE / Sport Development (Ed. Leeds)

'Lifelong Learning' is a term that is used liberally today, particularly in education. A school teacher's own lifelong learning, or Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is always important, but particularly in Dance where a teacher may not come from their PGCE or B.Ed with the subject knowledge or skills to teach Dance effectively.

Many schools low prioritisation or the poor capitation in this subject area can foster reluctance and fear. Some feel themselves 'unqualified' and often shy away from the subject altogether, bringing in 'trained specialists' to carry out the school's Dance provision.

Where the enhanced subject knowledge of the specialist is a boon, they often do not come with an understanding of the school, its curriculum, culture, pedagogy or pupils! Given this, it would seem apparent that effective programmes of CPD for Dance are essential in bridging the gap for both the pedagogy specialist (teacher) and the subject specialist (freelance dancer).

Companies like Dance In Education Services, who deliver such training for primary and secondary school teachers as well as dance professionals, have been a central and consistent driving force for years with our Dance CPD programmes delivered on behalf of schools, LEAs, national dance companies and the Youth Sport Trust.

Here at Dance in Educations Services, we recognise and truly value the relationship that can exist between the schools and professional dancer/specialist. Therefore, we have created two very different types of courses to cater for the very different requirements of the P.E teacher and Dance specialist. In short the course for the PE teacher focuses on ensuring delegates acquire subject knowledge whereas the courses for the dance specialist is designed to ensure delegates acquire teaching methodologies ad the know how to use and apply their skills in a different arena.
